So when deer, raccoons, opossums, skunks, dogs and cats are exposed to their irritating or loud sounds they tend to stay away-just like you wouldn't buy an apartment near a busy airport if you had a choice. Both outdoors and indoors, ultrasound is blocked or reduced by obstructions (it is completely blocked by walls)-so ultrasound devices work better in clear yards than in cluttered landscapes. Electronic devices work almost as well in a cluttered yard as they do in a clear one.

Well-suited to protecting yards, gardens, patios, porches, greenhouses, garages, and building interiors, the weatherproof Yard Gard covers an area of up to 4,000 square feet and is easily mounted on a pole or flat vertical surface by means of keyhole slots at the back of the unit. Some people with good high frequency hearing can hear the unit at its low (marginally sonic) frequency settings, but this situation can be resolved by selecting higher settings. |
