Deer Netting

Deer Netting

Some nets like Deer-X™ (products 11-18 below) make very poor fencing material but provide considerable protection against deer when used correctly. Designed to be draped over vulnerable plantings, they protect ornamentals, fruit trees, and vegetables because they are tough and interfere dramatically with chewing.

Deer Block

Easy Gardener’s Deer Block™ (product 11-19) is another type of net designed to stand alone on posts. Not really strong enough to serve as a full-fledged barrier deer fence, it does well as stand-up fencing placed within a foot or so of landscape plantings in order to prevent deer from gaining easy access to those plantings.

Barrier Deer Fence

There are two main types of nearly invisible deer fence that, if properly installed and maintained, will reliably keep out deer. One is made of polypropylene and is manufactured in Italy, while the other is made of pvc-coated metal hexagrid mesh and is produced in the United States. Those interested in learning more should visit our invisible deer fence website, www.invisible-deer-fence.com, which offers a full range of equipment and thorough installation instructions.
